Join us for readings from two of the island’s newest and most dynamic literary journals: Banshee and The Tangerine. Contributors who will read at the event include Laura McKenna, Niamh Campbell, Louise Kennedy, and Darragh McCausland.

Banshee publishes exciting, contemporary and accessible new writing from Ireland and around the world. Now in its fifth issue, it features short stories, flash fiction, poetry and personal essays.

The Tangerine is a Belfast-based magazine of new writing. Founded in 2016, it includes features, reportage, commentary, fiction, poetry, illustration and photography.

Niamh CampbellNiamh Campbell is from Dublin, and was a recipient of the Arts Council’s Next Generation literary bursary in 2016. She is working on a novel, and her work is forthcoming in Banshee, The Penny Dreadful and gorse. At present, she is an Irish Research Council postdoctoral fellow at NUI Maynooth.



Louise KennedyLouise Kennedy’s short stories have appeared in The Tangerine, The StingingFly, Ambit, Wasifiri, The Incubator and on Arena on RTE Radio 1. Prizes include Short Fiction Journal, John O’Connor and Listowel-Los Gatos in 2016. She is a PhD Creative Writing candidate at Queens University Belfast. She grew up in Holywood, Co. Down and lives in Sligo.


Darragh McCauslandDarragh McCausland is a writer from Kells, County Meath. He has been published in The Dublin Review, Lighthouse, gorse and The Tangerine. He is finishing a novel and a collection of short stories.




Laura McKenna
Laura McKenna is completing a novel for a Creative Writing PhD at UCC. Recent short fiction has been published in The Litro Anthology, Southword and Banshee. A past Hennessy Award and Forward Prize nominee, she was longlisted in 2016 for the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize and Bath Novel Award.
